Windle is an international development and humanitarian education organisation that harnesses the power of education to empower and inspire communities. Windle has over forty years of experience supporting refugees and people affected by conflict and marginalisation to access quality education and training in Eastern Africa. Today Windle International operates in five countries: Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan, and Somalia.
Windle International's structure enables our network of members to play an equal role in the overall strategy, direction and growth of Windle. Each Windle member has a Board of Trustees to provide closer oversight and effective coordination of Windle programmes at the country level, for the purposes of ensuring accountability, efficiency, compliance, and upholding our standards. The members are represented at the International Council by the chairs of the member boards.
Our International Council is our UK Board of Trustees, and consists of the Chairs of the Boards of our member offices, and a representative of the family of our founder.
