2026 Thames Walk - Saturday 12 September

On Saturday 12 September, over 30 supporters of Windle International joined together in Oxford - our largest gathering ever! We are incredibly grateful to each and every participant who joined us along the way. The group enjoyed plentiful sunshine, great meals, and lively conversation with friends new and old.

We are also very thankful to the over 100 donors who have supported thus far. With these funds, we will be able to support the causes listed below.

We will use the funds raised to support refugee secondary schools with whom we have worked for many years to employ competent teachers, to provide a safe and supportive environment for all their pupils especially girls. Funds will be used for the following causes:

  • To support one teacher and one teaching assistant at Rhino Camp High School, Uganda for one year – 2027

  • To support the children and staff of RCHS to continue to produce menstrual pads by funding the materials needed in 2027

  • To contribute to the provision of safe lavatories at Rhino Camp High School

  • Provision of solar street lamps in Dadaab Refugee Camp, providing for safe travel at night

  • To support the expanding programme of bursaries for refugee girls and boys in Rwanda secondary education

  • Management and engagement with community and potential partners

  • A nursing training scholarship for a former RCHS student

The severe aid funding cuts by governments in the US, the UK and Europe continues to have a very negative impact on the access of refugees and conflict-affected youth in Eastern Africa to education. Working with the communities and other partners, Windle International is trying to fill these gaps and expand opportunities for children at all levels of education.
