Rwanda Scholarship Program

In September 2025 Windle International and Africa New Life Ministries (ANLM) launched the Windle International Rwanda Scholarship Program, or WI-RSP. After a rigorous application process, ten students have been selected to receive robust scholarships to either an ANLM school or host community school. Endorsed by the UNHCR in Rwanda, this program was launched with the intention of increasing educational access for refugee students living in Nyabiheke Refugee Camp and in the host community of Gatsibo sector where the camp is located.

Windle International Uganda is leading the management of this program in conjunction with ANLM.

Programme Overview

For the 2025-2026 pilot year, there are 10 students (5 female, 5 male). Per the pilot agreement, there are six students from Nyabiheke Refugee Camp, and four from surrounding host communities. WIU, ANLM, and UNHCR staff selected the ten students from a rigorous application process.

Every student in the WI-RSP program receives the following:

  • Tuition funds (including room and board)

  • School supply and uniform funds

  • Healthcare fees

  • Health insurance for 50 family members

  • Career and mental health counselling

  • Home visits, including food delivery to families when the students are at school

  • Check-in visits from ANLM and WIU staff

The six refugee students attend New Life Christian Academy located in Kayonza, which is owned and operated by ANLM. The four refugee students attend other top-tier boarding schools where ANLM maintains relationships.
