Integrated Education Programmes
Windle International is not just focused on what goes on inside of a classroom. We are consciously aware that outside elements of daily life can have a negative impact on learning, or even prevent it all together. With this in mind, we are constantly seeking to offer opportunities to improve daily life for the communities we serve.
Children Feeding Initiative - Windle International Uganda and Convoy of Hope
The Convoy of Hope Children Feeding Initiative supports 47,724 learners in 58 schools across Imvepi, Rhino Camp, Palabek, Kiryandongo, Palorinya refugee settlements and Napak District in the Karamoja region as of spring 2026. The project aims to improve child nutrition and learning by providing daily fortified porridge, alongside targeted rations for malnourished learners, deworming, vitamin supplementation, and routine nutritional assessments. To promote healthy school environments, WASH interventions include hygiene training, water treatment support, and improved sanitation practices.
The Children Feeding Initiative intervention has over the time contributed to improved nutrition and child health, increased learning and concentration in classroom and decreased morbidity for learners in the project area. School feeding particularly helps the girls, orphans and vulnerable children and HIV affected minors to get into school and stay there, thereby enhancing enrolment and reducing absenteeism.
